il primo Muscat a Malta (1565-80)

Il cognome Muscat e molto diffuso a Malta - ci sono piu di 5000 persone con questo cognome in un isola di circa 400 000. Il piu antico Muscat nei registri di storia Maltese e un certo Iorlandus Muscat che nel periodo 1565-80 lascia la isola di Malta per andare a vivere al isola di Gozo.

The original research carried out by my Great Grand Father in the Early 1920’s, though never published.



1.King Charles II of England, Scotland, and Ireland. (r1660-87)
1.1.(His Mistress Renee de Penacourt de Keroualle, Duchesse d’Aubigny, Duchess of Portsmouth.) Sir Charles Lennox,K.G.,1st Duke of Richmond & Lennox, died 1723.
1.1.1.(His mistress, Jacqueline de Mezieres) Renee de Lenox (1709-74)
Her lover was her cousin the 2nd Duke of St Albans.
1.2.(His Mistress Eleanor Gwynn) Sir Charles Beauclerk K.G, 1st Duke of St Albans (died 1721.)
1.2.1 (from his lover Renee de Lenox) Diane de Beauclerk-Lenox (1727-London)
1.2.1.1 (By Sir Simon, 1st Earl Harcourt) Christopher Harcourt ( 1740-74)
Brought up by the Harcourts themselves, and served the army retired as a colonel. Married in London to a Trotter and left issue.

1.2.1.3.Louis de Bourbon ( 1742-81) Grew up with the Bourbon-Conti’s and served the army. Married an Heiress of Lordship status and took her surname and had issue. (d’Essenge !)
1.2.1.4..(By Baron Alessandro Mompalalao Cuzkeri, Baron di Frigenuni) Rosalea Mompalao ( 1743-85), grew up with her Mompalao family, and became de-Jure Baroness di Friguenuni.Was Mistress to the Marquis Diegio Moscati and Virissimo de Lancastre, Knight of Malta.
1.2.1.4.1. (By the Marquis Diegio Moscati) Saveria Moscati, Baroness di Frigenuni ( 1760-97), grew up with her mother in Valetta, Malta.
Had two lovers with had children from. They were Marquis Antonio de Piro and the Lord Archibald Douglas-Hamilton. She is also noted as a Lover to one of the Bourbon Princes of Siciliy, As iam unware of this at this stage, or even if there are any issue from this liason.
1.2.1.4.1.1. (By Marchese Antonio de Piro) Senatore Alexandre Moscati ( 1774-1826).
Grew up in Valetta , Malta. Was forced to flee Malta, due to raping the Most Noble Maria Teresa Testaferrata dei Marchese della San Vincenzo Ferreri, wich sired a daughter.
Alexandre, was a senator in Messina, Sicily..
He married firstly to a British Girl called Louisa Campbell, and sired several children from her. She died in 1802. He married secoundly to the Noble Rosa d’Alessandro and sired several mored children.
Alexander was also the dejure Marquis di Xrobb-il-Ghajn, Baron di Frigenuni.
1.2.1.4.1.1.1.(By Maria Teresa Testaferrata) Anna Moscati (1792-1853), grew up in a convent in Malta. Took up cleaning duties for the Government houses..In the beginning of theyear 1808, a French Prince, took an interest in her and asked if she could have her service with him, while in Malta..
The affair only lasted a short time, as the Prince became more sickly and then died. Anna was pregnant by him, and was latered married to a Michele Gauci in Mosta in 1810.
1.2.1.4.1.1.1.1. (By Louis-Charles d’Orleans)Teresa Gauci-Beaujolais ( 1808-74). Married in 1838 to Andrea dei Baroni Abela and sired several children.Her descendants are in Malta, England, Australia, Canada, USA, and in Italy.
1.2.1.4.1.1.1.2.(By the marriage of Michele Gauci) Gio Maria Gauci 1811-79, married in 1838 to Maria dei Baroni Abela and has issue
1.2.1.4.1.1.1.3.Michele Gauci 1813-61, married 1839 to Elizabeth Zammit, and moved to Crete, Greece in about 1845.
1.2.1.4.1.1.1.4.Alessandra Gauci 1814-91, married 1840 to Felicissmo Apap , moved to Crete, Greece in 1845
1.2.1.4.1.1.1.5.Christina Gauci 1815-85, married 1841 to Paulo Tommasi and has issue.
1.2.1.4.1.2.(By the first marriage). Antonio Moscati (1796-Messina to 1861 Naples).Grew up in Messina and went into the royal Neapeatian Army, and retired as Captain.Married in Naples and sired several children. Nothing else is know about him.

1.2.1.4.1.4.Stefanie Moscati 1799-1891 Messina) also married to the local Landed Gentry in messina
1.2.1.4.1.5.(From the secound Marriage) Rosario Moscati (1807-91 Messina).Served as a local authority in Messina, married to Anna d’Alessandro and sired several children.
1.2.1.4.1.5.1.Tommaso Moscati (1842-85) A Magistrate in messina, married in 1871 to Isabella d’Aragona and sired several children.
1.2.1.4.1.5.2.Carlo Moscati (1845-1906), moved to Egypt was a Lawyer there and left issue.
1.2.1.4.1.5.3.Alexandre Moscati (1846-1931), A Priest in messina , then Egypt.

1.2.1.4.1.3.1.Antonia Moscati de Piro ( 1796 Steinfurt, to 1878, Malta)Brought to Malta upon her birth and looked after by the Moscati family.
She was a cleaner to the Testaferrata de Noto Family, when she was raped by then teenager , Sir Giuseppe Vincenzo Testaferrata de Noto , and sired a child by him. Antonia was married off to a Domenico Sammut of Rabat, Malta.
